About the Workshops

The mapping workshops visualise existing local diverse economies and enable public conversations around possibilities and ambitions to Take Back The Economy. Each workshop is conceived and produced collaboratively with local partners and networks, with the results, methodologies and discussions also feeding back into the CERN network and associated research and action.

A key concern across all workshops is: can we take people’s experiences in place and come up with images that speak to the place, and can also travel? Is it necessary to refashion the iceberg, as it has happened with the floating coconut in the Pacific, and to explore other forms of diagramming organsiations and their economies, so that they are particular to their context and territory and at the same time become readable and comparable with initiatives elsewhere.
